About me
I’m a GMC-registered GP with over a decade of NHS experience, now dedicated to a holistic, root-cause approach to healthcare. Frustrated by the limitations of conventional medicine, where ten-minute appointments often don’t allow time to explore what’s really going on, I founded Healixa Health to provide patients with the kind of personalised, in-depth care I believe we all deserve.

My journey into functional medicine
I was struggling with ADHD, low mood, weight gain, poor gut health, and early signs of chronic disease — including high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and a fatty liver. I wasn’t sleeping well, I was reacting to different foods, constantly bloated, and retaining water — all signs of chronic inflammation that weren’t being fully addressed.
At the same time, I was trying to support my neurodivergent son, who also had gut issues and other health concerns. As I started to explore his health timeline using the functional medicine model, I could clearly see how early life events and environmental triggers might be contributing to his symptoms. That’s what sparked my deep dive into lifestyle and functional medicine — first for my family, then for my patients.
I realised that while the NHS excels in many areas, it’s simply not designed for root-cause medicine. Most GPs genuinely want to help their patients thrive, but we’re working within a system that lacks the time and resources for true healing. I knew I needed to find a more sustainable way of practising — one that allowed space to listen, investigate, and build meaningful relationships with the people I care for.
At Healixa Health, I bring together the best of conventional and integrative medicine. I blend evidence-based lifestyle interventions, advanced testing, and holistic therapies to create care plans that are completely personalised — addressing not just the body, but the mind, heart, and soul.
I’m a proud member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), and The British College of Functional Medicine. I’ve completed advanced training in Functional Medicine with the Institute of Functional Medicine and have completed training in Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine. I’m also deeply committed to lifelong learning, so I can continue evolving and serving my patients with integrity, compassion, and the most up-to-date knowledge.
Outside of work, I enjoy home educating my son and finding creative ways to make learning meaningful and fun. I’m also a big believer in movement for both physical and mental wellbeing — you’ll often find me at a hot yoga class or on the reformer Pilates machine. I love to travel, explore new cultures, and spend time in nature, especially underwater — scuba diving is one of my greatest passions.
